SUTL Enterprise makes waves in Indonesia with new Bali project and soon-to-open Nirup Island marina
Nov 16, 2020PRESS RELEASE
SINGAPORE – 12 November 2020 – SUTL Enterprise Limited (“SUTL Enterprise” or the “Group”), a leading marina developer, operator, consultant and owner of the premier ONE°15 marina brand is deepening its presence in Indonesia. The Group has secured a new project consultancy contract in Bali via its wholly-owned subsidiary, ONE15 Management & Technical Services Pte Ltd.
The new Bali project will see the Group providing comprehensive marina feasibility study and advisory services to PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (“Pelindo III”), an Indonesian state-owned enterprise that operates and manages 43 ports in 7 provinces of Indonesia. Currently, Pelindo III has a tourism development plan at Port of Benoa called Benoa Maritime Tourism Hub which serves as home port cruise and also provides facilities in the areas of Marine Tourism, Eco Tourism, Adventurous Trip, Local Heritage Tourism, Religious Tourism, Art & Culinary Tourism, MICE & Event and Water Sports.
As part of the masterplan, Pelindo III will also be developing a world-class marina which the Group will study and consider Bali, Indonesia’s most sought-after tourist destination, as a potential site for a new ONE°15 marina.
Closer to home, SUTL Enterprise is also expected to open ONE°15 Marina Nirup Island Indonesia in August 2021. The integrated marina, which is merely 8 nautical miles south of Sentosa, will be under a 10-year management contract which the Group had announced in 2018. It will occupy a total area of 4.71 hectares and offer 70 berths (including superyacht berthing and facilities), an integrated club house with multiple amenities on the land-side, hospitality and leisure comforts, a sea sports centre, as well as fueling and bunkering services. There will also be a five-star resort to be managed by the international hospitality group Accor under its premium M Gallery Collection brand, featuring 176 rooms and villas.
The Group also manages another Indonesian marina project, The Indonesia Navy Club, which is along Pantai Mutiara in Jakarta that is still under construction.
SUTL Enterprise Executive Director and CEO, Mr Arthur Tay, said:
“We are very excited about the developments in Indonesia. The country’s marina infrastructure is under-developed despite being a nation made up of thousands of islands. With COVID-19 having put leisure travel on hold and causing devastation to the global economy, it is during this lull period that we should be actively looking for potentially under-valued deals and idyllic new locations to plant our brand. When the Bali masterplan comes to fruition, the marina and yachting tourism will add on a multiplier effect that promotes tourism, creates jobs as well as encourages the flow of resources between Singapore and Indonesia waters. I believe this will have a positive economic and business impact regionally.”
SUTL Enterprise aims to grow the share of revenue from consultancy and management contracts that will expand the portfolio of marina projects. The group currently owns and manages ONE°15 properties in Singapore, Malaysia, USA, China, Thailand and Indonesia where some are at varying stages of construction and operations.
